Microsoft launches Parchi – an app that lets you take notes from your lock screen
Microsoft Garage has released Parchi App, an app that lets users take notes on their Android smartphones directly from the lockscreen. Microsoft’s Garage project has already released Keyboard for Excel, Send, and Next Lock Screen apps for Android users.
Microsoft Garage is a lab where employees and interns work on projects of their choice. The Parchi app is now available on Google Play for Android phones with versions 4.2 Jelly Bean and above, and is just 3.6MB in size.
“Parchi, a Microsoft Garage project, is a quick note-taking app – think paper-pencil, sticky notes, edge of a paper, the last page of every notebook, you get the idea,” explains the Google Play listing.
The Parchi App is interesting because it allows the use of #hashtags to filter search. users can jot down notes quickly when the smartphone is locked. The note-taking Parchi app supports text, lists and images. Users get the option to add coloured notes, mark as favourite, or pin to lock screen features.
The notes taken using the Parchi app can be shared via WhatsApp, email, other third-party apps, SMS etc. The app even offers option to backup notes. However, Parchi app will compete with Microsoft’s own OneNote app on the Google Play Store.
