In this article, I will share my knowledge on How To Start blog and get benefits from it.

Creating a Blog is really helpful for you, your brand or people awareness. It’s the best idea as a tool to establish authority and make people trust you.

So, Before going deep into it I would really like to share my personal experience when I was just stated blog. I am not ashamed to admit it that while building a blog I made a ton of mistakes. As a beginner, you don’t need to worry about it.

Now, Some people use BlogSpot, Some use WordPress or self-hosted blog etc. Many are also using Tumblr to create a blog. So, It’s your choice which Platform you want to use.

What is a blog?

A blog is a  discussion, A type of website that focuses mainly on written content  OR A blog is an informational website published on the World Wide Web consisting of discrete, often informal diary-style text posts. It may fall into any one of the following categories.

• Personal blog
• Business blog
• Professional blo
• Niche blog
• Reverse blog
• Affiliate blog
• Media blog.
• Freelance blog

• Share your story.
• Promote your Business and Product.
• Connect with new People

Well, A blogger should be filled with certain skills like Writing, Analytics, reading and many more in order to deliver great content that attracts readers.

1. Blogging Platform

When you Start Blog, Choose the platform that suits you and your pocket to invest in it. So, If you are running to start a blog for free go with BlogSpot.com and start Blogging. It is the best platform when you are new to blogging. But, if you are thinking of long-term, you should start a blog on WordPress platform.

2. Blog Name

After choosing the platform, choose a descriptive Blog name that suits your content which you want to publish. It should represent your brand and the type of blog you own.

So, If you are going to start Hobbies & passions, Life experiences, Technical, or personal Blog. Think twice and give a descriptive way according to your content.

Note*You cannot use any spaces or punctuation other than dashes in a Blog name. Also, don’t make the blog name that sounds too funky choose according to blog content.

3. Niche

Now, you have your Blog name, this highlight your content means “what is this blog all about”.

Most of the people make the mistake by mixing various topic on a Blog. So, if you are going to run a personal blog then it is fine. But, if your goal is anything else apart from creating the Personal blog, then you must stick to a niche.

For example, if you blog is related to technical content, then write about Games, Gadgets, Technical news etc. Similarly, If your blog is related to education, colleges, universities, Books, essay etc.

Note* Don’t push yourself according to other’s interest. As a beginner start blog related to your interest. This will maintain your interest and you will never think of quitting blogging.

4. Get Your Blog Online (Web-hosting)

 

If you are going with a BlogSpot to start Blog, you don’t need a Hosting account and your goal is to get a custom domain.

Here, On BlogSpot, you can choose a domain name like yourname.blogspot.com(By default) or yourname.com. For, getting a branded domain name like yourname.com.domain you have to spend $2-$10.

Another one is WordPress blog, so if you are choosing WordPress platform it’s time to get a hosting.

Web Hosting needs to provide space on the Internet for your blog. So, It plays an important role. Now, The amount of traffic your website can handle really depends on the WordPress hosting plan that you’re on. You can also choose shared hosting plans, which can comfortably handle 1000 to 2000 visitors per day.

6. Good Knowledge of SEO

So, As a beginner(Start Blog), you may or may not have heard of SEO. SEO (Search Engine Optimization) refers to optimizing page contents and code elements, the practice of optimizing individual web pages in order to rank higher and earn more relevant traffic in search engines.

Well, Learning SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is not a tough task so don’t be worry about it. As a beginner, you face some problems but once you spend 1-2 hours a day for initial few days to learn the basics you will realize the benefits.

As SEO is a big part and so many things to learn, but for now you can start with basics:

Use webmaster tool to check your website index correctly on Google. Another one is Commenting and Bookmarking site.

Commenting helps in driving traffic to blogs and creates a relationship with other bloggers. In terms of social bookmarking, Go to these Social bookmarking websites like Reddit, Flipboard and StumbleUpon are effective ways to drive traffic to your Blog.

8. Share Content On Social Media 

Social media is a great communication tool that can help you to connect and promote your content to customers all over the world.

And, If your blog is new or just Start Blog, it can be difficult to rank well in Google search results, then this is the great alternative you can say.

Among, Facebook, Twitter, or Pinterest where anyone can post whatever they want, Share your content on authoritative platforms where quality content is expected.
