Microsoft announces Windows 10 IoT Core Starter Kit which help users Run Windows 10 on a Raspberry Pi
Windows 10 IoT(Internet of Things) Core
Microsoft and Adafruit have released a Windows 10 IoT Core Starter Kit that gives you everything you need to Run Windows 10 on a Raspberry Pi. it’s basically a starter kit which will help developers to quickly start working on a new project.
Windows 10 IoT Core is a new edition of Windows targeted towards small embedded devices and maker boards such as Raspberry Pi2. IoT core is designed to work with low-level bus interfaces such as I2C, SPI, USB. You can write a Universal Windows Application using a variety of programming languages in Visual Studio to rapidly create maker projects.
You can use Windows 10 IoT Core to read sensor data, control actuators, connect to the cloud, create IoT applications and much more. The Starter Pack from Adafruit includes parts to get you started.
The kit is said to be aimed at Adafruit’s core audience of home hackers and also for those who fiddle with hardware in spare time. Added sensors also help users work on various applications as well.
Microsoft is hoping that kit, along with some free sample code, will encourage users to ditch Linux on their IoT projects in favour of Windows 10
