OnePlus 5G Phone: Coming Soon, But It Won’t Be The OnePlus 7

A few weeks ago, We heard about that OnePlus will soon launch its first phone to come with 5G support(OnePlus 5G Phone) confirmed at Qualcomm’s summit in Hong Kong on Tuesday. The Smartphone will leverage Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon X50 modem which is in compliance with the new 3GPP standards for 5G radios.

However, we know that the OnePlus only makes two smartphones every year. When this 5G Phone news spread we assumed that the company was talking about the OnePlus 7. But, the OnePlus spokesperson said, that the next flagship, the successor of the OnePlus 6T, won’t have 5G connectivity.

Note: The company’s first 5G phone is coming in early 2019, but it won’t be the OnePlus 7. Also, the company’s first 5G device will be the first in an all-new lineup of numerically-branded devices. 

Considering the news and reports, the OnePlus 5G phone will launch in early 2019, or first half of the year, so the phone could be unveiled at MWC in late February.

In terms of the price, OnePlus users have to know that OnePlus 5G phone may be more expensive to manufacture because of that 5G connectivity.

The interesting thing with the 5G phone news is that in the first half of 2019, Huawei and Samsung are also said to be working on 5G-enabled phones.
