Microsoft Lumia 650 with Windows 10, 4G bands and 5-inch display launched


Microsoft on Monday has unveiled a new Windows 10 smartphone, the Lumia 650. The handsets will be available in selected markets with a price tag of $199 (approximately Rs 13,500). The Microsoft Lumia 650 will be available in black and matte white and will go on sale in select European markets starting 18 February.

The mid-range smartphone comes with an aluminum frame. The smartphones come with enterprise features and run on the latest Windows 10 operating system. Aimed at business users and consumers alike, the phone includes the full range of Microsoft software, such as Office, Skype, OneDrive, etc.

In terms of specifications, the Microsoft Lumia 650 features a 5-inch AMOLED ClearBlack HD display with 720 x 1280 pixel resolution. It is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 processor paired with 1GB RAM. The device includes an internal storage of 16GB which can be further expanded up to 200GB using a microSD card.

The Microsoft Lumia 650 comes equipped with an 8-megapixel rear camera with f/2.2 aperture, autofocus, and LED flash along with a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, capable of video recording in 720p resolution. The Microsoft Lumia 650 is powered by a 2,000mAh battery.

Its connectivity options include 2G/3G/4G LTE, Bluetooth v4.1, NFC, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, and GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, and Beidou. The Microsoft Lumia 650 weighs 122g and measures a pretty sleek 142 x 70.9 x 6.9mm.

Microsoft also stated in a blog, “As we’ve sharpened our mobile strategy with a new focus in phones, the Lumia 650 is another step towards bringing Windows 10 to more than a billion devices.
