Microsoft Lumia 550 Launched at Rs 9,399 in India; sale from December 23
Microsoft Lumia 550 with Windows 10 operating system has been launched in India for Rs 9,399. The Windows 10 Mobile, Microsoft Lumia 550, will go on sale starting December 23, Wednesday.
Microsoft Lumia 550 is the third smartphone from the company, which has been launched in India with Windows 10 operating system after the recent launch of Microsoft Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL. Microsoft’s India website still lists the Lumia 550 as coming soon, but the company has confirmed the pricing.
Microsoft Lumia 550 is the cheapest smartphone from Microsoft to run the latest Windows 10 operating system for mobile. This windows 10 mobile, Lumia 550, was launched globally in early December at a price of $139.
Microsoft Lumia 550 features a 4.7-inch HD LCD display with screen resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels at 315 PPI. The Microsoft Lumia 550 a 1.1GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 SoC coupled with 1 GB of RAM and Adreno 304 GPU for graphics with support for 4G LTE.
It includes an internal storage of 8 GB which can be further expanded up to 200 GB via a microSD card. The smartphone supports single Micro-SIM.
On the camera front, The Microsoft Lumia 550 sports a 5-megapixel rear camera with support for autofocus, f/2.4 aperture and LED flash support. The phone is capable of capturing 720p videos at 30fps(Frames per second). It also packs a 2-megapixel front camera with an f/2.8 aperture and 480p video recording.
The Microsoft Lumia 550 measures 136.1×67.8×9.9mm. It is backed by a 2100mAh battery which is claimed to deliver up to 28 days of standby time, 16 hours of talk time on 2G, 14 hours on 3G, and 17 hours on 4G. The device will be available two colour variants – Matte black and Glossy white variants.
The Microsoft Lumia 550 does not support the Continuum feature that we’ve seen in the two top-end Lumia phones.
