Huawei P9 launched in India with 12-megapixel, 5.2-inch display, and HiSilicon Kirin 955 SoC
China’s smartphone manufacturer, Huawei launched the company’s premium flagship smartphone in India. Huawei launched its P Series flagship in India in an effort to gather some recognition in the market dominated by the likes of Samsung and Apple. Huawei P9 and Huawei P9 Plus was first showcased in April and was made available in the European markets a few months later.
Huawei’s much awaited- Huawei P9, the camera-centric smartphone priced at Rs 39,999. The handset that packs in a dual lens rear camera to deliver professional-looking photographs, will go on sale on Flipkart at 3:00PM on 17 August.
The Chinese company made headlines when it launched the Huawei P9 and Huawei P9 Plus, with the smartphones featuring a dual rear camera setup that was designed in collaboration with Leica. The setup comprises two 12-megapixel sensors with f/2.2 apertures, and while one captures light in colour, the other captures monochrome images. As for the selfie cameras, both smartphones come with 8-megapixel offerings.
Dual camera technology on smartphones is not a new thing. We have already seen it on HTC One M8 and LG’s flagship smartphone G5.
The Huawei P9 sports a 5.2-inch full HD 1920 x 1080 pixels IPS display with 2.5D curved screen. Under the hood, The smartphone is powered by company’s very own HiSilicon Kirin 955 64-bit octa-core processor (four Cortex-A72 cores clocked at 2.5GHz + four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.8GHz) paired with 3GB of RAM there is also a 32GB of internal storage. The Smartphone come with a microSD slot with support for up to 256GB.
The smartphone runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Huawei’s Emotion UI 4.1 on top of it. It also has one of the fastest fingerprint scanner packed into a smartphone placed at the back, right below the image sensor.
Huawei P9 comes armed with a 3,000mAh battery and fast charging feature, connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots, 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, and USB Type-C port.
The Huawei P9 smartphone will be available in Titanium Grey, Mystic Silver, and Prestige Gold finishes. Huawei promises a 2-year warranty along with Pickup and Drop facility as a part of its VIP service.
At the event, the Chinese company also announced the stainless steel version of the Android Wear-powered Huawei Watch priced at Rs 22,999 and it too goes on sale today at 3:00PM on Flipkart. Along with the Android Wear-powered Huawei Watch company also announced its MateBook which is scheduled for launch later this year.
