3D Touch Peek and Pop iOS User can view Facebook timeline in 3D

3D Touch – Soon, iOS User can view Facebook timeline in 3D

The social media giant, Facebook, has finally updated its iOS app to let users of iPhone 6S and 6S plus take advantage of the 3D touch available on their phones, get ready to experience your Facebook Timeline in 3D soon. According to reports, the new update to the app will allow latest iPhone users to take advantage of Peek and Pop 3D touch actions on web links, profiles, Facebook Pages, Facebook Groups, Facebook Events, photos, profile pictures and cover photos.

Users can now lightly press on the screen to get a preview, or the “peek” part of the feature. If the users want to continue, the long press will activate the ‘pop’ feature.

The social media giant, last year, had added a “quick view” shortcut, which appears when users press the app’s home screen icon. This feature allows users to quickly write a post, take a photo/video, upload a photo/video or view profile.

“We are excited to start rolling out support for 3D Touch in our iOS app so people can quickly and easily peek into a preview of anything they are interested in on Facebook, and pop into that content to see more,” a Facebook spokesperson was quoted as saying in the report.

The social network has already started rolling out the 3D Touch beginning with a small group of people on Thursday, and will later expand to more users.

Apple’s 3D touch technology has opened doors for developers to make some unique changes to the experience of using apps. One of the first apps that rolled out 3D Touch technology is Instagram, which also brought 3D Touch technology to the Android.

Facebook has been continuously adding new features to its iOS and Android apps. In December 2015, Facebook had begun testing its live streaming video feature Facebook Live Video with a small number of iOS users in the US to take on Meerkat and Periscope.
