For the support of full-screen edge-to-edge display of the iPhone X, Apple Updated iMovie and Adopts Metal for Graphics Processing.

Also, With this update for the iOS version of iMovie, it brings support for the Super Retina display on iPhone X, bug fixes and more.

iMovie for iOS was updated to version 2.2.5, in order to improve overall stability. Moreover, Apple tells installing this new version of iMovie requires iOS 11.2.

In terms of display, iMovie was one of the major Apple apps that had not been updated with support for the new display. As a result, It force iMovie users to deal with black bars on their devices.

Now with this update, Apple X users display properly. Several other Apple apps have yet to be updated with iPhone X support, including iTunes Connect, iTunes Remote, Beats Pill+, Music Memos, and AirPort Utility.
