Considering the Redmi 5A launch, the price was set up Rs. 4,999 with the claim of it going back to the regular price after 5 million units are sold.
After Redmi 5A launch, Xiaomi India head Manu Kumar Jain has tweeted in January, the company sold more than a million units of its Redmi 5A entry-level smartphone within a month of its launch.

The Redmi 5A Smartphone has a 5.00-inch touchscreen display with (720 x 1280)pixels resolutions. It is powered by 1.4GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor with 2GB / 3GB of RAM and 16GB / 32 GB of inbuilt storage expandable via microSD card slot.
