Xiaomi Redmi 3 with 4100 mAh battery launched in China – Here’s everything you need to know

Xiaomi has officially unveiled its latest Redmi 3 smartphone at a price of CNY 699 (approximately Rs. 7,000) that boasts of a new diamond-patterned metal design and a mammoth battery. The Xiaomi Redmi 3 is available on Mi.com and Tmall.

In terms of design, the Xioami Redmi 3 offers a full metal body and available in silver, grey and gold colours in a “Check Stars” variant that has a diamond pattern running on the back of the phone. The other option is classic gold with a plain matte gold finish on the entire device.

On the specifications front, the Xioami Redmi 3 features a 5-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 720 pixels by 1280 pixels. The Xiaomi Redmi 3 is powered by a 1.2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 processor with 2GB of RAM.

The Redmi 3 measures 139.30 x 69.60 x 8.50mm and weighs 144.00 grams. It is powered by a 4,100mAh non-removable battery with support for fast charging.

The Xiaomi Redmi 3 includes 16 GB of internal storage which can be further expanded up to 128 GB via microSD card. The Xiaomi Redmi 3 runs on an unspecified Android version with MIUI 7.

The Xiaomi Redmi 3 comes equipped with a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash along with a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies. The selfie camera also supports full-HD recording.

The Xiaomi Redmi 3 is a dual SIM (GSM and GSM) device that accepts Micro-SIM and Nano-SIM Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPS, A-GPS, Glonass, Micro-USB, FM, 3G, 4G. Sensors on the phone include Proximity sensor, Ambient light sensor, Accelerometer.
