Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air 4G with Windows 10 launched in China: Price, Specs, and More


Xiaomi on Friday as expected launched a new variant of its Mi Notebook Air laptop. Called the Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air 4G, the laptop comes with 4G connectivity, which includes Cat.4 4G LTE support capable of delivering download speeds up to 150Mbps.

The Windows 10 Home-based Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air 4G 12.5-inch model has been priced at CNY 4,699 (roughly Rs. 46,500) while the 13.3-inch model has been priced at CNY 6,999 (roughly Rs. 69,500).

The Chinese smartphone maker has also partnered with China Mobile to provide an annual plan of bundled 4GB per month (48GB annually) on China Mobile worth CNY 130. To recall, the company had entered into laptop industry by launching Mi Notebook Air back in July 2016.

12.5-inch Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air 4G Specifications

The 12.5-inch Mi Notebook Air 4G features 1920×1080 pixels full HD resolution, 16:9 aspect ratio, 170-degree wide viewing angle, 300 nits brightness and 600:1 contrast ration. It is powered by an Intel Core M3 processor coupled with 4GB of LPDDR3 RAM (1866MHz), and offers a 128GB SSD (SATA) that’s expandable via a second SSD slot.

For video conferencing, it comes with 1-megapixel HD web camera and digital array microphone. Connectivity options include 4G LTE support, Bluetooth 4.1 and Wi-Fi 802.11ac 2×2 (2.4GHz and 5GHz), USB 3.0 (x1), HDMI and USB Type-C. The laptop comes with dual 1W speakers with Dolby audio. It is powered by the 37Wh battery with 11.5 hours of battery life.

13.3-inch Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air 4G Specifications

The second variant has a 13.3-inch display with 1920×1080 pixels full HD resolution, 16:9 aspect ratio, 170-degree wide viewing angle, 300 nits brightness and 800:1 contrast ratio. The 13.3-inch Mi Notebook Air comes with a sixth-generation Intel Core i7 (2 cores, 4 threads, max clock speed of 3.0GHz) processor, which the company says will provide a 10 percent improvement over the Core i5 processor of the non-4G variant. Other specifications remain the same as last time, including a Nvidia GeForce 940MX GPU with 1GB of GDDR5 VRAM, 8GB of DDR4 RAM, and a 256GB PCIe SSD.

It has 1-megapixel HD webcam and digital array microphone. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11ac 2×2 (2.4GHz and 5GHz), Bluetooth 4.1, two USB 3.0 ports, HDMI, USB Type-C. It also comes with dual 2W speakers with Dolby audio. The laptop comes with 40Wh battery, which the company claims can deliver up to 9.5 hours of battery life.
