The Xiaomi Mi 5 has been the centre of debate for tipsters and the media worldwide, and if new reports are to be believed, Xiaomi Mi 5 will feature a 2.5D curved glass on the front, and 3D glass covering the back panel.

The latest report says that the Xiaomi Mi 5 is equipped with a traditional fingerprint scanner embedded in the physical home button, which claims to be the smallest and fastest sensor on the market.

Xiaomi always includes three capacitive buttons below the display, never a physical home button. If the renders are to be believed then the Xiaomi Mi 5 will be the first device from the company to come with a physical home button.

According to the latest report, the Xiaomi’s Mi 5 will come in two variants and both the models will be powered by the Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 820 64-bit quad-core SoC, 3/4GB of RAM, 32/64 GB of internal storage.

The Mi 5 will feature a 5.2-inch display with a Full HD or QHD resolution. On the camera front, Xiaomi Mi5 comes with a 16-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 13-megapixel front-facing camera.

Furthermore, the smartphone packs by a non-removable 3,600 mAh battery compatible with Quick Charge 3 via USB Type C. The Xiaomi Mi 5 is expected to run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow based MIUI 7.

According to the leaked info, the 32 GB variant of the smartphone with 3 GB of RAM will cost 1,999 Yuan ($308) while the 64 GB variant of the smartphone with 4 GB of RAM will cost 2,299 Yuan ($354).

Xiaomi’s CEO Lei Jun said that the Xiaomi Mi5 “is worth the waiting”, and that the phone is “very very good”. The new reports say that the handset will be available in gold, silver and rose gold variants. It was previously rumored that the Xiaomi Mi 5 could be unveiled on January 21, 2016.
