‘Made in India’ Redmi Note Prime – upgraded variant of Redmi Note 4G goes on sale at Rs.8,499


After teasing for more than a week, Xiaomi finally launched its new smartphone in India – Xiaomi Redmi Note Prime. The new Xiaomi Redmi Note Prime will be exclusively available on Amazon as well as on Mi India website at Rs. 8,499. The upgraded variant of Redmi Note 4G will go on sale from 10 AM on December 15.

The new Xiaomi Redmi Note Prime is now the second phone by Xiaomi manufactured in India at Sri City Plant in Andhra Pradesh, in partnership with Foxconn Technology Group. The first Mi phone to be made in India was the Redmi 2 Prime.

When it comes to specifications, the new Redmi Note Prime comes with a 5.5-inch IPS HD display (1,280 x 720 pixels) resolution, 267 PPI. The new device is powered by a 1.2GHz 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor paired with 2 GB of RAM (LPDDR3).

Other specs include an internal storage of 16 GB which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD card, a 13-megapixel rear camera with autofocus and LED flash, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, and a 3100 mAh Lithium-ion Polymer removable Battery.

“The power efficient Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor coupled with the battery saving features of MIUI, has enabled us to achieve our most impressive battery performance yet,” Xiaomi India.

The Redmi Note Prime runs on Android 4.4 KitKat-based MIUI 7. On the connectivity front, the Redmi Note Prime covers GPRS/ EDGE, 3G, 4G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n with hotspot functionality, Bluetooth v4.0, FM radio, microUSB 2.0, USB-OTG and GPS/ A-GPS. The smartphone also comes with dual-SIM capabilities. It measure 154.0 x 78.7 x 9.5 mm in dimension and weighs 185 grams.
