Apple iPhone 5s price slashed in India; now available for as low as Rs 21,499


The Apple iPhone 5s was launched in India in 2013 at a price of Rs. 53,500 for 16 GB model. Now, Apple has slashed prices of iPhone 5s in India. The phone, which was until last week was priced at Rs 35,000 onwards, now carries a price tag of Rs 21,499 for its 16 GB model.

Infibeam, which is the only authorised Apple online seller, is offering the iPhone 5S in space grey model (16GB) at a starting price of Rs 21,899. The silver version will cost Rs 27,289 on Infibeam.

The Apple iPhone 5s 16 GB is available on Flipkart at as low as Rs. 21,890, both Amazon India and Snapdeal are offering iPhone 5s 16 GB at Rs. 21,499.

Launched in India in 2013, the phone amounted for Rs 53,500 for 16 GB model. The iPhone 5s has received the second major price cut in four months. Back in September, the iPhone 5s received its first major price cut post the launch of the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus and was made available at Rs. 35,000 for the 16 GB variant, with the 32 GB model priced at Rs. 40,000.

Apple iPhone 5s was the company’s first phone to come with its TouchID fingerprint scanner. It features a 4-inch display, an 8-megapixel iSight rear camera with dual-LED flash and a 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera.

With the latest price cut, the iPhone 5s price in India is probably amongst the lowest in the world. The approximate cost for an unlocked iPhone 5s in the US is $450 i.e. Rs 30,100 approximately. Apple iPhone 5s is the best phone under Rs. 25,000.
