Obi Worldphone launches SF1 With Full-HD Display in India at Rs 11,999

Obi Worldphone, the smartphone company led by former Apple CEO John Sculley, has launched its new smartphone – the Obi Worldphone SF1 – in India.

The Obi Worldphone SF1 will be available in two variants – one with 2GB RAM and 16GB of storage, priced at Rs 11,999 and another with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage, priced at Rs 13,999. Both phones support a microSD card of up to 64 GB.

The Obi Worldphone SF1 features a unibody design with metallic accents. It has a 5-inch JDI In-Cell IPS full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) display offering a pixel density of 443ppi and Corning Gorilla Glass 4. It is a fully-laminated, OGS display that also comes with an oleophobic coating to avoid fingerprints.

Obi Worldphone SF1 is powered by a 1.5 GHz, 64-bit, octa-core Qualcomm MSM8939 Snapdragon 615 chipset with Adreno 405 GPU. It runs Android 5.0.2 Lollipop with the Obi Lifespeed UI. It comes with 3 GB of DDR 3 RAM for the 32 GB model (2 GB for 16 GB) and supports expandable storage via microSD card (up to 64GB).

The smartphone packs in a 13 MP Autofocus (Sony Exmor IMX214) with an f/2.0 aperture on the back and a 5 MP camera on front; both of which are accompanied by an LED Flash.

The Obi Worldphone SF1 has a 3000 mAh battery, which is supported by Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 1.0 meaning that the battery does charge up quickly. SF1 comes with 4G LTE and supports FDD B3 1800MHz and TDD B40 2300MHz bands.

Other features of the smartphone include microphones for noise cancelation, Dolby Audio Surround and features an accelerometer, proximity sensor, gyroscope, and ambient light sensor. It measures 146 x 74 x 8 mm and weighs 147 grams.
