Moto E3 Power First Impressions – Everything You Need to know

Lenovo owned smartphone maker Motorola has announced the new Moto E3 Power in India with a price tag of Rs 7,999. The smartphone is variant of the regular Moto E3 which was announced in the UK back in July.

The Moto E3 Power is the third generation of Motorola’s popular affordable handset. The phone will be available exclusively through Flipkart.

Priced at Rs 7,999, the Moto E3 Power looks pretty different from the previousMoto E smartphones. The new smartphone comes with a 5-inch display (1280 x 720 pixels) protected with Gorilla Glass 3 with a smudge proof coating.

This new phone is powered by a MediaTek MT6735P quad-core processor clocked at 1GHz with 2GB RAM and a Mali-T720MP2 GPU. It offers 16GB of internal storage which expandable up to 32GB via the microSD card slot. At the back, there is an 8-megapixel camera with features like HDR and panorama. There is also a 5-megapixel selfie shooter on the front.

One of the biggest highlights of the device is its large 3500mAh battery, and this is being marketed heavily by the company. Making the deal even sweeter, Lenovo will ship a 10W charger in the Moto E3 Power’s box. The phone supports rapid charging, which means plugging it in for 15 minutes will give you up to five hours of battery life, according to the company.

The smartphone has a removable back cover that opens up to reveal two SIM slots as well as a microSD card slot. It is 4G and VoLTE enabled and will support all networks including Reliance Jio. The company has gone with a removable battery on the Moto E3 Power, which looks like a welcome change from most phones today which have non-removable batteries.

Moto e3 Power runs stock Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The device comes with water-repellent coating.

With the launch of smartphones such as Xiaomi Redmi 3S, Moto e3 Power, and Moto G4 Play, the competition in the budget segment is getting intense. These smartphones are priced in the Rs 6,000 – Rs 10,000 price bracket and pack solid specifications.

For Rs 7,999, the Moto E3 Power seems a pretty decent smartphone. But if you look at the competition, the likes of Xiaomi Redmi 3s Prime, which is Rs 1,000 more expensive, offers better features like the fingerprint scanner, more expandable storage capacity, and larger battery.
