Lenovo 2-in-1 Yoga Book launched in India: Price and specifications

Lenovo 2-in-1 Yoga Book launched in India: Price and specifications

Chinese technology company Lenovo on Tuesday launched its Yoga Book — an ultra-thin, 2-in-1 with a Halo Keyboard laptop — in India. The Lenovo Yoga Book was first introduced at IFA 2016 by the company and comes in two versions: Android and Windows 10, but the company only bringing Windows 10 pro version in India.

This sleek convertible tablet runs Windows 10 and can be used like a small laptop if you choose, and is priced at Rs 49,990 with a 10.1-inch FHD display. It will go on sale via Flipkart.

The 10.1-inch Full HD IPS (1,920 x 1,200 resolution) display is powered by quad-core 2.4GHz Intel Atom X5 processor and has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage capacity. The storage capacity can be increased up to 128GB via microSD card slot. It weighs just 690 grams and just 9.6mm thick when closed and 4.55mm thin when opened.

Lenovo is bundling Real Pen stylus, Book Pad and Real Pen Ink Refills with the device. Lenovo says India will get the Android version as well later.

The Book has a sturdy 360-degree hinge that lets users set it up in four different modes — Create Mode for drawing and taking notes, Browse Mode as a compact tablet, Watch Mode for entertainment, and Type Mode as a productive laptop.

The device is impressive and it is thinner than a paper notebook. The metal chassis feels premium and the main drawback for the thinness is the lack of ports. It has one microUSB port for charging, micro HDMI port on the left and a 3.5mm headphone jack on the right. Yoga Book is one of the best mobile productivity tablets that you can get in the market.

This is something that is geared for professional who need a device for on-the-go,” said Bhaskar Choudhuri, Lenovo India’s Director Marketing.

He also explained why the Windows 10 Lenovo Yoga Book is coming to India and not the Android version. “It’s purely driven by supplies. We facing a very good demand scenario. That is one of the reasons why are we limiting it to one portal, and not launching it Pan India or in Lenovo Stores,” said Bhaskar Choudhuri.

The Lenovo Yoga Book has two panels that open up like an ultra-thin notebook. Instead of the regular keyboard on a normal laptop, Lenovo has changed it with the Halo Keyboard, a full touch-screen backlit digital keyboard, that is made of glass and the same screen can be used to write with the Real-Pen accessory that holds real ink tips onto a piece of paper or notepad covering the multi-use keyboard panel where everything is instantly digitised and saved onto the device. The Stylus and the Real pen are inter-changeable.
