Facebook first launched 360-degree video in September for web and Android. Now, user can watch these 360-degree videos on iOS. It works by simply moving your phone around the air, or tapping and dragging to look around the landscape.

Facebook is creating tools to make it easier for people to share 360-degree content to News Feed. It added a resource hub so people can learn more about how to upload 360-degree videos, and Facebook is working with 360 camera makers like Theta, Giroptic, and IC Real Tech to add “publish to Facebook” features directly into the camera.

360-degree videos are not technically same as VR (Virtual Reality), watching them through a VR (Virtual Reality)headset offers a much more immersive experience.

If you are not sure how to start with 360-degree videos, Facebook launched a microsite. The site includes upload guidelines, common questions, and a set of best practices authored by Chris Milk and Aaron Koplin of Vrse, a leading virtual reality studio.

There will be an optional video control setting for Pages uploading 360-degree video on Facebook. Page owners can edit the initial camera position and vertical field of view before uploading their 360-degree videos, allowing for greater control in post-production.
