Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 set to launch in India on March 3
Xiaomi on Monday has announced it is launching its Redmi Note 3 in India on March 3. The Chinese smartphone maker is holding an event at Talkatora Stadium in New Delhi, which will be open to fans as well, it confirmed in a forum post. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 is the company’s first phone with a fingerprint sensor on the back and a full-metal body.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 is a pretty chubby smartphone as it measures 150x76x8.65mm and weighs 164 grams. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 processor which is a hexa-core chipset (four cores clocked at 1.2GHz and two cores clocked at 1.8GHz). Xiaomi has launched two versions of the phone in China. One comes with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage space and the second has 3GB RAM and 32GB storage space.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 sports 5.5-inch full-HD 1080×1920 pixels IPS display and offer 178-degree viewing angle. The Redmi Note 3 runs Xiaomi’s MIUI 7 OS on top of Android 5.1 Lollipop and supports dual 4G SIM cards. The smartphone packs an extra large 4000mAh battery with fast charging support that can charge up to 50 percent in 1 hour. Its fingerprint sensor is claimed to unlock the phone in 0.3 seconds.
On the camera front, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 sports a 16-megapixel rear camera with phase detection autofocus (PDAF) and two-tone flash. It also houses a 5-megapixel front camera. For connectivity, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 supports 4G LTE (compatible with Indian LTE bands), Bluetooth, 3G, GPRS/ EDGE, GPS, Glonass, Wi-Fi, and Micro-USB.
The 16 GB model is priced at RMB 899 (Approx Rs 9,400), and 32 GB at RMB 1099 (Approx Rs 11,500). The company, however, is yet to announce prices for the Indian market.
