Xiaomi Redmi 3 Will Sport A 4,100mAh Battery And Snapdragon 616 SoC


The Chinese smartphone maker, Xiaomi, has confirmed that the Redmi 3 smartphone will be launched next week – on Tuesday, 12 January. The company has released a new teaser on its official Weibo (Chinese social network) account earlier today, that shows the Xiaomi Redmi 3 will pack a 4100mAh battery.

Additionally, the China-based analyst, Sun Changxu, said on Weibo that the Xiaomi Redmi 3 will be powered by the new octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 processor clocked at 1.7GHz and Adreno 405 GPU for graphics. The Chinese analyst, Sun Changxu, has further claimed that the Xiaomi Redmi 3 will be priced “higher than expected.”

In its first teaser image, Xiaomi had confirmed that the successor of Xiaomi Redmi 2 will sport a 5-inch HD screen as well as features an all metal body with a unique plaid design on the back.

The device’s TENAA listing, the Chinese telecommunications certification authority, revealed that Xiaomi Redmi 3 is powered by a 1.5GHz octa-core processor paired with 2GB of RAM. The Redmi 3 will feature a 5-inch HD resolution TFT display with a 720 x 1280 pixel resolution.

The Xiaomi Redmi 3 will feature an internal storage of 16GB, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card slot. On the camera front, the phone will flaunt a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera.

The phone will get a metal body and will be juiced by a 4,000mAh battery. The Xiaomi Redmi 3 will offer 4G LTE connectivity, and two SIM card slots, while you can expect MIUI V7 to come pre-installed here on top of Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. The Xiaomi Redmi 3 measures 139.3×69.6×8.5mm and weighs 143 grams.
