In terms of display the Xiaomi Mi 5 sports a 5.15-inch Full HD 1080p display with a 16 LED light backlight technology which gives a brighter picture but that is 17% more power efficient. Sunlight Display technology is upgraded as well and promises contrast adjustment on a per-pixel level. For the first time, Xiaomi has included a fingerprint sensor on one of its devices and a home button.

On the Camera front, the Mi 5 comes with a 16-megapixel Sony IMX298 sensor with PDAF autofocus and a pixel-to-pixel isolation technology to stop light bleed from one pixel to another. It also has 4 axis OIS(optical image stabilization). There is also a 4-megapixel front camera with large pixels, for better low light pictures.

The Xiaomi Mi 5 runs Xiaomi’s MIUI 7 interface on top of Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Mi 5 is the first phone that ships with Xiaomi’s Mi Video Calling app, a new cross-platform video chat app that includes live video effects and multitasking modes.

The Xiaomi Mi 5 will be available in three different models, a 32GB model, a 64GB model, and a 128GB model.

The “Pro” version, which comes with 4GB of RAM, 128GB of storage and ceramic back plate instead of glass, will be going for 2,699 yuan (roughly $410 or £300). It will come to China first, followed by India and other markets Xiaomi sells its devices in.
