Vaporcade Jupiter IO 3 smartphone comes with a built-in e-cigarette – Good news for smokers
Call it bizarre or clever, but a The Los Angeles-based company Vaporcade is offering a smartphone, Vaporcade Jupiter IO 3, that will allow you to make calls and text as well as smoke your favourite e-flavours – even help you quit smoking – The Verge reported on Sunday.

The Vaporcade Jupiter IO 3 is claimed to be “the world’s first and only cellular vaporizer” and allows you to call, text, check your email, take pictures, and vape from a single device.
The 3G-enabled smartphone costs $299, and runs on Android KitKat 4.4 operating system, have a built-in LED light band around the edge and Vaporcade’s proprietary vaping app.
The e-cigarette part appears to be formed from a cartridge that clips into the top of the Vaporcade Jupiter IO 3 smartphone. The liquid cartridges cost $15 and come in flavours like mint, peach and coffee and each one provides about 800 puffs or four packs of cigarettes.
It adds an extra 1.3 inches in length to the 6 inch-long handset, excluding the mouthpiece, and users can add an optional hookah. While the smartphone side, there are two choices of the handset with 5.3-inch screens.
The Vaporcade Jupiter IO 3 has two batteries – one to power the phone and one to power the vape. The battery life is shared so if you do not vape much, you will get a longer battery life.
The Los Angeles-based company, that makes e-cigarettes, cigars, and coffee beans, plans to release a 4G model for $499 in the next few months. Additional specs, like the processor or camera, are still missing.
The Vaporcade Jupiter IO 3 is reportedly made by Vaporcade together with Herbert A. Gilbert, who is recognized by the community as the forefather of the e-cigarette after patenting such a device in 1965. The co-founders of the Vaporcade are Seamus Blackley and John Cameron. Blackley has a history that boasts achievements in bringing video games to life and John Cameron is the younger brother of famous Hollywood director James Cameron.
