Samsung Z2 – Key specs, features, India price and everything you need to know


Samsung launched the Tizen-powered Z2 smartphone in India on Tuesday at Rs. 4,590. The device was rumoured to launch alongside Galaxy Note 7 in the first week of August. The Samsung Z2 smartphone will be available in Black, Wine Red, and Gold colour variants from Monday via Paytm and Samsung’s offline retail stores.

Samsung Z2 follows the previous Tizen-powered Z3 and Z1 smartphones. Samsung Z2 features specifications similar to Z1. The Samsung Z2 is a new 4G LTE-enabled smartphone based on the Korean tech company’s own Tizen operating systems.

As for the specifications, the Samsung Z2 sport a 4-inch WVGA (480×800 pixels) display, and is powered by a 1.5Ghz quad-core Spreadtrum (SC9830) processor coupled with 1GB of RAM.

It sports a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a VGA (0.3-megapixel) front camera. For storage, there is 8GB of storage which can be expanded further using a microSD card for up to 128GB.

The 4G LTE-enabled smartphone also offers a dual-SIM option. Other connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and USB OTG. The phone also supports 12 Indian languages.

The Z2 smartphone is powered by a 1500mAh removable battery, and Samsung says this can deliver up to 8 hours of 4G browsing.

The Z2 is the third smartphone in the Samsung Z series of Tizen smartphones. The first Tizen smartphone, the Samsung Z1, was launched in India in January last year. In October, the company then launched the Samsung Z3.
