Microsoft Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL are officially launched in India
Microsoft launched the much-anticipated Windows premium smartphones Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL in India today. Both smartphones were launched at Microsoft’s Windows 10 hardware event in New York last month.
The Microsoft Lumia 950 and 950 XL are the first devices to run Microsoft’s Windows 10 out of the box. Windows 10 Mobile brings in a host of new features and improvements like a cleaner interface, an improved keyboard, and Microsoft Edge browser among others.
Microsoft Lumia 950 and 950 XL are priced at Rs 43,699 and Rs 49,399 respectively. The phone will be available only on Amazon.in and pre-bookings start today for the first sale on December 11.

Features of Microsoft Lumia 950
The Microsoft Lumia 950 comes with a 5.2-inch AMOLED display with 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution, the pixel density of 565 PPI and Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It is powered by the 1.8GHz hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor with 3 GB RAM and offers a 20-megapixel rear camera that can record videos in 4K resolution and a 5-megapixel front camera. It has a 3000 mAh battery and comes with USB Type-C port for faster charging, a 32 GB internal memory, 200 GB micro SD card slot, dual-band WiFi (ac), Bluetooth 4.1, GPS with A-GPS and GLONASS and Beidou, NFC and FM radio. It measures 145x 73.2x 8.2 mm and weighs 150 grams.

The Microsoft Lumia 950 XL has a bigger 5.7-inch QHD (1440×2560 pixels) ClearBlack AMOLED display with a pixel density of 518ppi and has the same 20-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front camera. It has a better 2.0 GHz Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor with 3 GB RAM as well as a bigger 3340 mAh battery with USB Type C charging port. It has a 32 GB internal memory, 200 GB expandable storage slot, Bluetooth 4.1, FM radio, NFC and GPS with GLONASS, A-GPS and Beidou. It measures 151.9x 78.4x 8.1 mm and weighs 165 grams.
The Microsoft Lumia 950 and 950 XL come with adaptive antenna technology. The company says that this makes it possible for the device to give users the best reception no matter how they pick it up. The Lumia handsets also come with liquid cooling technology, ensuring that the phone doesn’t heat up. Microsoft is promising that the phone will go from an empty battery to 50 percent capacity in just 30 minutes should you let the cell run empty.
