LG V30 will be the first phone to come with f/1.6 lense, the largest ever in a smartphone across all brands

The South Korean company LG recently announced the launch date of the V30, its next flagship smartphone. The LG V30 smartphone will have the widest aperture currently found in any smartphone across all brands. The LG V30 smartphone, which will launch on August 31, will come with a dual rear-facing camera, with one of the lenses having an aperture of f/1.6.

It had previously been rumored, but now we have got official confirmation from LG that the upcoming LG V30 smartphone will feature a camera with an f/1.6 aperture. According to LG, it will let in 25% more light than the f/1.8 lenses found in many other phones. To be clear, the smaller the f/ number, the larger the aperture. That means the hardware on the V30 will be that little bit better than the Galaxy S8.

“Excellence in smartphone cameras has long been a core competency of LG’s mobile devices and the dual camera module in the upcoming LG V30 will include the world’s largest aperture and clearest lens ever to be featured in a smartphone,” LG said in a press release.

Two years ago, the LG V10 was one of the most impressive cameraphones on the market, last year the LG V20 delivered the best sound among smartphones, and this year the V30 will presumably attempt to elevate both categories even further.

Juno Cho, president of LG Electronics Mobile Communications stated, “LG boasts an unrivaled heritage in smartphone photography and our decision to adopt glass in the V30 camera is specifically because this has traditionally been the realm of DSLRs.”

Cho further stated that the innovations in the V30 are significant, from users’ point of view.

The South Korean electronics giant recently confirmed that its next major smartphone, i.e. LG V30, will feature a 6-inch FullVision QHD+ P-OLED display.

It’s expected to feature a Snapdragon 835 processor with 6GB of RAM, a dual camera system, glass back. It can be offered by the company in 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB storage capacities. The handset is expected to house a 3200mAh battery and measure at 151.4×75.2×7.4mm. It may be the first handset in the V series to ditch the secondary display.
