HP Spectre –  The world’s thinnest laptop

At the 2016 New York Times International Luxury Conference, HP has unveiled its new Spectre, the new title-holder for “world’s thinnest laptop.” The HP Spectre is just 10.4 millimeters (0.41 inches) thick. This would mean that it’s slimmer than the 12-inch MacBook (0.52 inches), MacBook Air (0.68 inches) and Dell XPS 13 (0.59 inches) at their thickest points. It’s also thinner than the 0.52-inch Razer Blade Stealth. The HP Spectre weighs 1.10 kilogrammes (It weighs slightly more than the new Apple MacBook and Lenovo Yoga 900S).

With a 13.3-inch full HD Corning Gorilla Glass display, the laptop comes with the nine-hour battery life, backlit keyboard, glass trackpad, piston hinge, and dual speakers resulting from a partnership with Bang & Olufsen. The HP Spectre laptop is powered by either a Core i5-6200U (two cores with Hyper-Threading, 3 MB L3 cache, Intel HD Graphics 520) or the Core i7-6500U (two cores with Hyper-Threading, 4 MB L3 cache, Intel HD Graphics 520) processor.

To maximize battery life, HP had to use two types of batteries of different shapes inside its Spectre laptop, giving four cells in total.

The HP Spectre will be available for pre-order on April 25 for $1,169.99 (Approx Rs. 78000) before it hits Best Buy stores on May 22 for $1,249.99 (Approx Rs. 83500).
