Google might be ready to manufacture a new 7-inch Android tablet – pixel tablet – in collaboration with China-based Huawei, which worked with Google on the Nexus 6P smartphone, this year.

According to popular tipster Evan Blass, Huawei is working on the Nexus tablet with a 7-inch display. Ironically, an Asus-made 7-inch Nexus tablet already exists, which was launched back in 2012 with a revamped version launched in 2013.

Evan Blass adds that the Huawei-made 7-inch pixel tablet will feature a 4GB of RAM, an extra gigabyte more than the one used in the 2012 version. The device is rumoured to be released this year itself. There is no additional information on the tablet as of yet.

Two of Google’s smartphones dubbed Pixel and Pixel XL are rumoured to launch on October 4. The smaller (5-inch display) of the two devices, Pixel – is codenamed Sailfish, while the larger (5.5-inch display) device, Pixel XL is codenamed Marlin. Both devices are being built by HTC.

The Google Pixel XL (or HTC Marlin) was purportedly also run through Geekbench, revealing some key specification details. As per the listing, the smartphone will run on the Android Nougat Manufacturer Release 1 (Android NMR1), which could possibly be the first maintenance release of Android Nougat and will feature a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, likely to be the Snapdragon 820 processor. It would also feature a 4GB RAM.

Previous leaks suggest that the Pixel smartphone sports a 5-inch display and will be priced at $449 (roughly Rs. 30,000). The Pixel XL is the larger of the two with a 5.5-inch display and is expected to be priced at $599 (roughly Rs. 39,999).

Google will unveil all of these products in October, and also release the first major maintenance release of Android Nougat 7.1 alongside. The build number of this first maintenance release has also been leaked and is expected to be NDE63B.
