Flipkart Teases OnePlus 3 Sale; Carl Pei, OnePlus Co-Founder Tweets ‘What’s This? We’re Exclusive With Amazon’
A good news OnePlus 3 lover a big news if you visit Flipkart today. Right on Flipkart’s homepage is a banner that talks about a OnePlus 3 sale, which will happen during the ‘Big Shopping Days’ sale from December 18 to 21.
Flipkart has even added a product page for the OnePlus 3 along with the price tag as ‘Coming Soon,’ leading people to believe that the smartphone will be available on the website. The OnePlus 3 sale banner on Flipkart homepage points out that the smartphone will be available for under Rs 20,000 with Rs 1_,999 which is strange considering that the cost of a new OnePlus 3 is Rs 27,999. For the discounted price of less than Rs 20,000, the OnePlus 3 is a definitely a steal.
But it looks like this surprise was something that even OnePlus didn’t know. In fact, OnePlus CEO Carl Pei was also taken aback with the offer and tweeted out to Flipkart Co-Founder saying @_sachinbansal brother, what’s this? We’re exclusive with @amazonIn.
Further, we don’t really know if this would be a direct price cut or through exchange offer policy. Nevertheless, irrespective of the number that goes into that blank, one would now be able to buy the ‘Near Best’ smartphone of the year with at least Rs 8,000 discount.
OnePlus 3 is hardly an old phone and was launched just six months ago as the company’s 2016 flagship device. In fact, OnePlus replaced it with OnePlus 3T in November end, and the new device brings small upgrades to the earlier version. Of course, for those who just bought the OnePlus 3 this price drop on Flipkart won’t come as a good news. In fact, Pei also stressed on Twitter they won’t betray fans by dropping the price like this.
It still remains to be seen what Sachin Bansal would say since he hasn’t responded to Pei’s tweet yet.
As of now, the exact pricing is unknown, but one thing is for sure, you’ll be able to buy the OnePlus 3 for under Rs 20,000, which otherwise costs Rs 27,999. The teaser also mentions that the OnePlus 3 smartphone will be available in limited quantities and only soft gold color variant will be on offer. Axis Bank Buzz credit card holders can get extra five percent discount (maximum of Rs 200). What’s more, customers can also avail the smartphone on EMI as low as Rs 1,358 per month on using Axis Bank, Citibank, HDFC, HSBC, ICICI, IndusInd, Standard Chartered and State Bank of India credit cards.
