ChampOne C1 smartphone – India is ready to produce the cheapest phone to increase the digitalization

After ringing bell Freedom 251, another new company claiming and launching its phone of Rupees 501 by ChampOne, ChampOne is a company we haven’t heard of, but the company has made its way to the headlines today thanks to this claim: A smartphone called ChampOne C1 at just Rs 501, which offers better specifications than many mid-range phones in the market.

The ChampOne C1 seems like a decent mid-range smartphone on paper. It sports a 5-inch HD display, a fingerprint scanner, 2GB of RAM, 8-megapixel rear camera, and is powered by a 1.3Ghz MediaTek MT6735 SoC.

According to the site, the flash sale is on September 2 and registrations are open now, ChampOne says that its phone will be available to customers participating in the flash sale on September 2 for Rs 501.

ChampOne’s official website is also replete with mysterious undertones. To begin with, registrations have been stopped, for at least 24 hours, starting when we do not know.

ChampOne clearly states that the phone is open for cash on delivery, but then it makes an odd mention of a payment gateway which has been cited as the reason behind why registrations were stopped in the first place.

“We are facing technical issue with our payment gateway partner [Ccavenue (Avenues India Pvt. Ltd.)]. You would not be able to register for the application for next 24 hours. We sincerely regret your inconvenience and would try to get it fixed as soon as possible,” the ChampOne website says.

“We are newcomer yet efficient, we have just stepped in this radio based domain and have to go for the benchmark,” the site’s Mission and Vision page read. “We are going to touch everybody by building a marketplace which combines a simpler universe with technology,” it adds. Let’s hope they don’t mean that literally. The About Us, Mission, and Vision page have the same text as well. In Contact us, there is a helpline number, and location for an office in Jodhpur.

In terms of specifications, ChampOne C1 smartphone claims to make some truly astounding claims, especially if one considers the Rs 501 price tag. This is even better than what Freedom 251 claimed to offer. The specs are as follows: 5-inch display HD display, 1.3GHz processor, 2GB RAM and 8MP rear camera. There’s even a fingerprint scanner. These specs will cost you at least Rs 6,999 or higher in the current smartphone market. But we don’t know if the smartphone even exists.

In terms of specs, the ChampOne C1 smartphone is a clear winner here, at least if it delivers what has been promised. Not only are the specs of the Freedom 251 mediocre, the company hasn’t even been able to maintain what was promised. So, on paper, C1 takes all the brownie points.

However, what’s even more important is the customer support and delivery. That will make a huge difference. We all are familiar with the conundrum related to the Freedom 251, and ChampOne will have to ensure its devices reach users, and on time.
