Asus ZenFone Zoom with 13MP camera launched in India at Rs 37,999 for 128GB model
Asus has finally launched its camera-centric smartphone — ZenFone Zoom — in India. The Asus ZenFone Zoom is priced at Rs 37,999 for 128GB memory variant and Asus is bundling portable tripod and the Zenflash for Rs 39,999. The Smartphone will be available in India from 22 January, 2016, on Flipkart.
The Asus ZenFone Zoom was first showcased at CES 2015 as the “world’s thinnest 3X optical smartphone offering up to 12X zoom-in effect”, with a thickness of just 11.95mm.

The Asus ZenFone Zoom sports a 13 MP rear camera with f/2.7 to f/4.8-aperture, 10-element lenses with 3X optical zoom. Comapny claims that the 10 element lens on ZenFone Zoom is designed by Hoya and the sensor is designed by Panasonic. This camera takes a noticeable amount of space on the back of the phone while also featuring laser autofocus, optical image stabilization(OIS), and a dual LED flash. On the front, the device has a 5 MP front-facing camera.
The smartphone comes with a 5.5-inch full HD IPS display, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4. It is powered by a 2.5 GHz quad-core Intel Atom Z3590 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage. The ZenFone Zoom supports expandable storage via microSD.
The Asus ZenFone Zoom comes with Asus ZenUI based on Android 5.0 Lollipop, LTE connectivity and a 3000mAh battery with fast-charging – Asus says 60-percent capacity is reached in just under 40 minutes – makes the best use of the internal space.
Connectivity options include 4G, WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, WiFi Direct, GPS with A-GPS/GLONASS, Bluetooth 4.0, and micro USB 2.0 port. The Asus ZenFone Zoom measures 158.9×78.8×11.95mm and weighs 185 grams and in the sensors department it has Accelerometer, proximity, ambient light, gyroscope, digital compass and Hall-effect sensors.
