Xiaomi Mi5 Photo Leak Reveals smaller 5-inch display, Physical Home Button
The Xiaomi Mi5 has been the centre of debate for tipsters and the media worldwide, and if new reports are to be believed, Xiaomi Mi5 will feature a smaller display and physical home button.
The leaked renders reveal the front of the Xiaomi Mi 5 sporting a physical home button. Xiaomi always includes three capacitive buttons below the display, never a physical home button. If the renders are to be believed then the Xiaomi Mi5 will be the first device from the company to come with a physical home button.
It was previously rumored that the Xiaomi Mi 5 would feature a 5.2-inch display but, the new images from GizmoChina claims that Xiaomi’s new phone will measure 5 inches across its screen with a 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution and the device would feature a full-metal body. The leaked front panel photos also reveal that the Mi 5 is set to come with rounded corners.
As for the hardware specifications, the Xiaomi Mi5 is powered by the Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 820 SoC and 4 GB worth of RAM. There’s a chance that the Xiaomi Mi5 will have a 64GB of internal storage and a USB Type-C interface as well. On the camera front, Xiaomi Mi 5 comes with a 16-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. The screen will offer a version of Force Touch.
According to GizmoChina, the Xiaomi Mi5 is expected to be the company’s first smartphone running Android 6.0 Marshmallow based on Xiaomi’s MIUI OS out of the box. Based on leaks, Xiaomi is said to launch the Mi5 at CNY 2,499 (approximately Rs. 25,900).
Xiaomi’s CEO Lei Jun said that the Xiaomi Mi5 “is worth the waiting”, and that the phone is “very very good”. The new reports from GizmoChina say that the handset will be available in gold, silver and rose gold variants. It was previously rumored that the Xiaomi Mi 5 could be unveiled on January 21, 2016.
