No More Late work: South Korea Shut Down Computers In Office At 8 pm
Good move towards the employee life, The South Korea government shut down the employee computers at 8 PM on Fridays so they can go home on time.
The program will have three stages: with a second stage from April when computers will be switched off at 7:30 PM on the second and fourth Fridays of that month; and the final phase in May, when computers will be shut down by 7 PM every Friday.
With this new scheme, the majority of employees are not happy. They think that long work hours were once considered necessary to fuel rapid economic growth.
This is another new step by South Korea government for the welfare of mankind. Previously, The government-sanctioned shutdown for online video games Played by the children between 12 AM and 6 AM.
According to the reports, it is noticed that workers in Korea work 2,738 hours a year, compared to the 1,763 hours the average public servant works in other developed countries.
Moreover, If we consider the recent reports and the natural fact that the long hour’s work is not good for health. It reduces life, Productivity, and turns into suicidal cases.
As we know the case of Japan, Last year woman committed suicide due to chronic overwork.
Also, The government officials said almost 70 percent of people have asked to be exempt from the shutdown Program.
