LG V30 Launch Confirmed For August 31st – Full Specs, Features and More
The South Korean company LG on Tuesday announced the launch date of the V30, it next flagship smartphone. LG had already sent a ‘save the date’ invite back in July, and in the latest invite (seen below), it clearly mentions the date and time of the event as well as the phone’s name, LG V30. The invite also bears the words ‘Lights. Camera. Action.’ It also reveals that the handset’s camera features will be its selling point. The event will be a part of the IFA 2017 convention in Berlin and LG will unveil its device at the Maritim Hotel in Berlin, Germany. The launch event is an invite-only affair so those who don’t receive an invite won’t be able to attend the launch in person.
The HitRecord videos provide a good look at what is described as the real LG flagship smartphone for 2017. LG and HitRecord have collaborated in the past for creative projects filmed using the former’s smartphones, and the two companies are doing it again this year.
According to footage showing the front of the phone, the phone’s camera UI also looks almost identical to what you get on LG’s current phones. You can see the same iconography for the dual camera buttons on top, while another video from user Mcgannfamily shows the same kind of manual video controls that LG has had for years.
We know that the LG V30 will be sporting a dual-camera setup on the back, and according to a report from earlier this month, the main camera on the V30 will have a massive f/1.6 aperture for what should produce some of the best low-light camera performance we’ve seen from a phone to date. LG recently confirmed that its next major smartphone, i.e. LG V30, will feature a 6-inch FullVision QHD+ P-OLED display.
The LG V30 is the South Korean company’s second flagship smartphone for the year. It’s expected to feature a Snapdragon 835 processor with 6GB of RAM, a dual camera system, glass back. It can be offered by the company in 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB storage capacities. The handset is expected to house a 3200mAh battery and measure at 151.4×75.2×7.4mm. It may be the first handset in the V series to ditch the secondary display.
