HTC launches 5-inch Desire 626 Dual SIM smartphone in India at Rs 14,990

Taiwanese manufacturer HTC on Friday launched a new mid-range 4G-enabled smartphone in India, the HTC Desire 626 Dual SIM. The handset will be available in Blue Lagoon and White Birch colour variants and is priced at Rs 14,990. The company has revealed that the smartphone will be available at all the leading retail stores in the country.

In terms of specifications, the HTC Desire 626 features a 5-inch HD display with a 720 x 1280 pixel resolution and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system topped with the Sense UI of the company. It is powered by a 1.7 GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6752 processor that’s coupled with 2GB of RAM.

The dual-SIM (Nano-SIM + Nano-SIM) supporting HTC Desire 626 smartphone includes an internal storage of 16GB which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD card.

The HTC Desire 626 features a 13-megapixel rear camera with a BSI sensor, f/2.2 aperture, 28mm lens, and LED flash, apart from a 5-megapixel fixed focus front-facing camera with a BSI sensor. The rear camera features scene detection, panorama, geo-tagging, best shot, smile shot, and HDR options.

In terms of connectivity, the HTC Desire 626 supports Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi, 3.5 mm stereo audio jack and micro-USB 2.0 (5-pin) port. It includes the accelerometer, ambient light, and magnetic sensor. A 2000mAh battery completes the package. Like the other HTC Desire smartphones, this one also comes with dual front speakers for a better audio experience.

The HTC Desire 626 Dual SIM measures 146.9×70.9×8.19mm and weighs 135 grams.
