BlackBerry Priv – BlackBerry’s first android Smartphone available from today
BlackBerry Priv , Blackberry’s very first smartphone that runs Google’s Android. The BlackBerry Priv is now officially available. The Android-based BlackBerry Priv comes with a physical keyboard which slides out from underneath the device.
The BlackBerry Priv’s dual curved 5.4-inch (1440×2560 pixels), 540 PPI, AMOLED display is colourful, sharp and Bright. the Gorilla Glass 4 meeting an aluminium surround with a pleasant slope. It measures in at 147 x 77.2 x 9.4 mm and weighs 192g. The BlackBerry Priv also has a very good, customized touch keyboard, with big letters and the ability to swipe up to auto complete words at any time.
The BlackBerry Priv comes with 32GB of internal storage, of which 23.86GB is accessible. It features microSD card slot that will support up to 2TB.
The camera is pretty impressive in that it is 18MP and it features Schneider-Kreuznach optics along with a nice dual LED flash. The front facing camera is a 2MP unit. The BlackBerry Priv features optical image stabilization (OIS) technology, phase-detect auto focus and the ability to record 4K video at 30fps(frames per second).
The BlackBerry Priv sports a jumbo 3410mAh battery. BlackBerry promises battery life of 22.5 hours of mixed use. The phone has a large fast-charging battery, though it doesn’t seem to support inductive charging.
The Priv uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 hexa-core 64-bit processor with 3GB of RAM. and it runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. The BlackBerry has confirmed that Android 6.0 Marshmallow update is in the works and should be made available within the next six months.
It has quad-band GSM, five-band HSPA+ (including 1700MHz): Band 1, 2, 4, 5/6, 8), and LTE bands 1/2/3/4/5/6/12/17/20/29/30. The BlackBerry Priv also supports Bluetooth 4.1 and dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac.
BlackBerry’s proudest feature has always been how it handles email and notifications. The Priv has the Hub, Like BlackBerry 10 devices. which brings all of your e-mail, social media accounts, and messaging services into a single app, letting you manage everything in an e-mail-like fashion. It can be accessed by pulling a small white tab on the left-sided curve of the screen.
BlackBerry embeds crypto keys into the hardware during manufacturing, which the company claims makes it more difficult to crack or hijack than other devices. They even included the DTEK security app which monitors what’s going on in your phone and reports anything nefarious.
