In mobile arena today ASUS launched the first AR smartphone with Google Tango as well as Daydream ready, in Indian Market, the cost of Asus ZenFone AR Phone is 49,999 which is exclusively available via Flipkart starting from 4 PM today.

Flipkart is also offering Rs 2,500 off on Google daydream VR headset along with the purchase of Zenfone AR smartphone because Flipkart In partnership with Asus VR headset (priced at Rs. 6,499). Reliance Jio has also teamed up with Asus and Flipkart to offer subscribers up to 100GB additional data and a complimentary Prime subscription. The data can be availed in the form of an additional 10GB data voucher per recharge of Rs. 309 and above, for up to 10 recharges until March 2018.

The Asus ZenFone AR was introduced in Consumer Electronic Show(CES) 2017. It seems that lots of people are not aware of the Google Project Tango, Tango is technology developed by Google that uses computer vision to enable mobile device, You can soon simply have your walls virtually painted, or check out how your new seat covers would look in your car. Or maybe, even how you can visualize your lawn such as smartphones and tablets, to detect their position relative to the world around them without using GPS, As an initial stage, ASUS has developed a few special apps for VR, which include, photo collage, gallery and Zen circle, pre-loaded on the phone itself. The Asus ZenFone AR, is however, the world’s first (and only) smartphone to support Tango as well as Daydream, Google’s platform for VR experiences on a mobile form factor.

Let’s talk about the specification of Asus ZenFone AR

Asus ZenFone AR – to enable high-end Daydream experiences — comes with a 5.7-inch QHD Super AMOLED display with a 1440×2560 pixel resolution. It is powered by a Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor which has been optimized for Tango, clubbed with a whopping 8 GB of RAM and 128GB of storage which is also expandable. The dual-SIM ZenFone AR supports 4G LTE and runs Android Nougat-based ZenUI. It is further backed by a 3,300mAh battery and supports Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 technology that is claimed to charge 60 per cent of the phone in just 39 minutes. Furthermore, the phone comes with 5 magnet speakers with NXP SmartAMP for audio. There’s also high-resolution support via compatible headphones.

The Asus ZenFone AR comes with a 23-megapixel Sony IMX318 rear camera, with usual Tango sensors for motion tracking and depth sensing. The main camera also supports TriTech+ autofocus system, dual-PDAF, second-gen Laser Focus, and continuous focus. The rear camera supports 4-axis OIS (optical image stabilization) as well as 3-axis EIS (electronic image stabilization) for video recording alongside support for 4K video recording and a super-resolution mode that can stitch “four native 23MP photos to create a single 92MP image.”. The Asus ZenFone AR comes with an 8-megapixel front camera.
