Xiaomi Redmi Pro Teaser Hints at Oled Display, Deca-Core SoC
According to Weibo posts, the company hinted that the Xiaomi Redmi Pro will feature an Oled display and may be powered by a deca-core processor, and at a special event in Beijing Xiaomi will launch a Redmi smartphone and its first laptop.
The first teaser posted on Weibo showed a smartphone with dual rear camera endorsed by Mi ambassador Liu Haoran.
The new teaser posted on weibo suggests Xiaomi will launch Redmi Pro on July 27 with OLED display. In a video teaser posted on Weibo, Xiaomi hints at the use of OLED display with a celebrity chef Liu Shi Shi preparing an OLED ping. Xiaomi has been using Samsung display panels for its smartphones and there is a possibility that Redmi Pro could feature a Super AMOLED display from Samsung.
In a different leak, Xiaomi Redmi Pro is already benchmarked on Geekbench. The Geekbench score suggests it will be powered by MediaTek Helio X20 chipset and will run Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Xiaomi could announce this phone with company’s latest MIUI 8 ROM.
According to Russian tech site Mobiltelefon, the company will launch two variants of Redmi Pro – one with 3GB RAM and other with 4GB RAM. The 3GB RAM will be powered by MediaTek Helio X20 SoC while the 4GB RAM will get slightly faster Helio X25 chipset.
The Redmi Pro was also purportedly spotted on Geekbench benchmark, scoring 1218 in single-core tests while 4183 on the multi-core test. The smartphone is also rumored to be powered by a 4100mAh battery.
Some of the leaked Redmi Pro images claimed that the handset will sport a metal unibody with antenna bands on top and bottom of the smartphone. The volume rockers and the power button both were seen sitting on the right side of the phablet. The handset is said to come with a fingerprint scanner on the front. The Xiaomi Redmi Pro is also expected to sport two cameras at the back placed below each other vertically.
According to an AnTuTu listing, Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 is the most popular smartphone in India, China, Hong Kong, Russia, Vietnam, and Malaysia.
