Vivo Xplay5 Elite With 6GB of RAM, Snapdragon 820 processor finally announced
The Chinese tech company Vivo has previously broken records by launching the slimmest smartphone – the Vivo X5 Max, with a thickness of 4.75mm. Now the Chinese tech company has once again set a benchmark for others by launching world’s first smartphone with 6GB of RAM – the Vivo Xplay5 Elite.
However, Vivo also had another surprise for its fans, in the form of a mid-range Xplay 5 smartphone as well. The Vivo Xplay 5 Elite will be priced at CNY 4,288 (approximately Rs 44,308) while the Xplay 5 will sell for CNY 3,698 (approximately Rs 38,215). Both handsets will go on sale in China on 8 March.
The dual-SIM Vivo Xplay5 Elite, the more powerful model out of the two, is made of metal with Gorilla Glass 4 coating body. The Vivo Xplay5 Elite features a dual curved 5.43-inch Super AMOLED display with QHD (1440×2560 pixels) resolution. It is powered by the quad-core Snapdragon 820 processor clocked at 2.15GHz, paired with 6GB of RAM and Adreno 530 GPU. The smartphone run Android 6.0 Marshmallow with the FunTouch skin. The skin also supports split-screen multitasking just like the Galaxy Note line of smartphones.
Vivo has also packed in 128GB of non-expandable internal storage and a fingerprint scanner on the back. On the camera front, the Xplay5 Elite sports a 16-megapixel rear camera powered by Sony IMX298 sensor, phase detection autofocus (PDAF), 6P Lens, f/2.0 aperture, and dual-tone LED flash. There is also an 8-megapixel front facing camera on the device.
As for the connectivity options, the Xplay 5 Elite packs in dualSIM slots, LTE radios and a 3600mAh battery. It measures 153.5×76.2×7.59mm and weighs 167.8 grams. In addition, the device comes with a bunch of sensors – gravity, ambient light, proximity, and gyroscope. Both handsets additionally have split-screen multitasking functionality.
